Richard Bowyer

Richard has been involved in the journalism industry for the past 39 years. He rose from the ranks, starting as a junior reporter at a weekly newspaper to becoming Editor-in-Chief of Staffordshire Sentinel Newspapers. During his newspaper career he won awards for his work. After he left newspapers, he has spent the last eight years at the University of Derby, preparing students to enter the world of journalism. While at university he has written academic papers on his specialist field, the regional newspaper industry.
