David Nicholson

After training on the Westmorland Gazette and Northern Echo, David Nicholson had a 20-year Fleet Street career (Time Out, Sunday Times, The Sun and Today) before taking on the Editor role at The Yorkshire Evening Press in York from 1993 to 1996.  A return to Fleet Street (Live TV, Sunday Mirror and Daily Express) was followed by a return to York as a freelance editor and crossword compiler.  A founder director of the highly successful YorkMix news and features website, he remains a passionate advocate for grass roots journalism.
